Company History
1872
Incorporated as a manufacturer of indigo-dyed textiles (aizome), which was a side job of farming household since the middle of the Edo period (18th century).
Initially, the company’s main product was narrow, yarn-dyed textiles to be made into farmers’ working trousers.
Around 1880s
Started textile manufacturing for the tabi sock industry in neighboring Gyoda.
Around 1930s
Introduced machineries to launch broad machine dyeing.
1949
Reorganized and renamed the company to the present Kojimasenshoku Co., Ltd.
In the early 1950s
Opened a Tokyo office in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku to receive orders from the Tokyo metropolitan area and across Japan.
2009
Kazuyuki Komuro was certified as the Traditional Craftsman of Saitama Prefecture.
2009
The factory was designated as the Saitama Prefecture’s Model Factory of Traditional Craft.
2013
Takenori Tobita was certified as the Traditional Craftsman of Saitama Prefecture.
