Company History
  • 1872
    Incorporated as a manufacturer of indigo-dyed textiles (aizome), which was a side job of farming
    household since the middle of the Edo period (18th century).
    Initially, the company’s main product was narrow, yarn-dyed textiles to be made into farmers’
    working trousers.
  • Around 1880s
    Started textile manufacturing for the tabi sock industry in neighboring Gyoda.
  • Around 1930s
    Introduced machineries to launch broad machine dyeing.
  • 1949
    Reorganized and renamed the company to the present Kojimasenshoku Co., Ltd.
  • In the early 1950s
    Opened a Tokyo office in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku to receive orders from the Tokyo metropolitan area
    and across Japan.
  • 2009
    Kazuyuki Komuro was certified as the Traditional Craftsman of Saitama Prefecture.
  • 2009
    The factory was designated as the Saitama Prefecture’s Model Factory of Traditional Craft.
  • 2013
    Takenori Tobita was certified as the Traditional Craftsman of Saitama Prefecture.
